Australian country outfit Darlinghurst has farewelled two members from its lineup due to competing visions for the future. Jason Resch and Matt Darvidis have been ousted, with the band now revolving around Pagan Newman and Cassie Leopold. The group share a statement with Countrytown acknowledging the shift.
“Earlier this year, it became clear the members’ visions for Darlinghurst were not aligned,” Darlinghurst said. “The members have now agreed that Darlinghurst will move forward with Cassie and Pagan as the remaining original members. Cassie, Pagan, Jason and Matt are incredibly proud of what they have achieved together and grateful for their fans’ ongoing support.”
Darlinghurst – ‘Unforgettable’
Darlinghurst debuted in 2019 and have enjoyed notable success ever since, boasting five #1 radio singles, a debut #1 ARIA Country Album, a Golden Guitar for Best New Talent, and close to five million streams.
The band will now go ahead with Newman and Leopold as its two core members. A new single, ‘Unapologetic’, is expected on 5th January, featuring contributions from both Newman and Leopold as well as Resch and Darvidis.
