Watch David Bowie’s Son Give A Stirring Speech While Accepting His Dad’s Brit Award

The son of the late David Bowie, Duncan Jones, has given a touching speech at today’s Brit Awards in London, after accepting his dad’s award for Best British Album.

Accepting the honour for his dad’s final album Blackstar, Jones reflected on his dad’s legacy, saying, “I lost my dad last year, but I also became a dad, and I was spending a lot of time after getting over the shock of trying to work out what would I want my son to know about his granddad.

“And I think, it would be the same thing that most of my dad’s fans have taken over the last 50 years — he’s always been there supporting people who think they’re a little bit weird, or a little bit strange, a little bit different. And he’s always been there for them.

“This award is for all the kooks and all the people who make the kooks.”

There was one thing Jones forgot to say during his speech, though, so he later took to Twitter to say…

This year’s Brit Awards also saw Coldplay frontman Chris Martin pay tribute to the late George Michael, by singing with the musician in a performance of ‘A Different Corner’.
