David Keenan Announces 2024 Australian Tour, Including Sydney Festival

Irish singer-songwriter David Keenan has announced a run of Australian tour dates for late January and early February 2024. The artist’s first tour of the continent comes in advance of his as-yet-untitled fourth studio album, which is set for release in the new year.

“Australia, I’m grateful and excited to be coming to your beautiful country,” Keenan wrote when announcing the tour on social media. “Who’s with me on this new adventure? These gigs will be unforgettable, and there’s so much to explore.”

Keenan’s tour will begin with two nights at the Neilson Theatre, located in the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct and run by the Australian Chamber Orchestra. These shows are part of the 2024 Sydney Festival program, which will also feature appearances from the likes of Courtney Barnett and The Teskey Brothers. From there, Keenan will head to Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Gippsland.

Keenan released his debut EP, Cobwebs, in February 2017. Since then, his output has been prolific – a further three EPs followed prior to the release of his debut album, A Beginner’s Guide to Bravery, in January 2020. His second album, What Then?, came out in October 2021, and his most recent, Crude, was released in November 2022.

Since then, Keenan has released the Crude Boyo EP, made up of five tracks that didn’t make it to Crude, as well as the singles ‘Tick Tock’ and ‘An Irish Song’. The latter two songs are expected to appear on Keenan’s fourth album.
