Deadmau5 Has Completed New Double Album

The man in the mouse helmet, Deadmau5, known to friends and family as Joel Zimmerman, has revealed that he has completed work on his latest album, telling his Twitter followers that the new double record consists of “2 discs. 2 continuous mixes. 25 tracks” and is something he is proud of.

Last year, the 33-year-old producer told Rolling Stone that he’d been hard at work on new music, saying, “I’ve been going hardcore on production. I’ve got six, seven, eight, nine, 10 songs,” and in a video chronicling a coffee run with his lawyer, revealed that his new LP would be two discs.

“in other news… i finished my album today. 2 discs. 2 continuous mixes. 25 tracks. and something im proud of,” Zimmerman nonchalantly tweeted, much to the delight of his many followers. The producer’s last album-length release was last year’s somber and piano-heavy experimental effort, 7.

Regarding his live show, Zimmerman told RS, “I’ve been waiting a year and a half for the technology to catch up to what I want to do. I’m still waiting.” He disclosed plans to craft an elaborate and ambitious live show that goes beyond “just a guy playing fucking good songs.”
