Depeche Mode Founders Reunite To Form New Band ‘VCMG’

Depeche Mode co-founders Martin Gore and Vince Clarke have reunited after 30 years to form a new techno act called VCMG.

The pair have not collaborated on anything since Clarke quit the band in 1981. Vince then went on to form other bands, including 80’s pop act Yazoo or Yaz as it was known in the U.S, with singer Alison Moyet. Yazoo soon split up but did a series of comeback shows in 2005 to celebrate 25 years since the duo’s split.

VCMG will release a yet-untitled album early next year. Until then they will put out a series of EPs, beginning with a 5-track collection called Spock. The Spock EP will be out December 13 through Mute, and includes four remixes of the title track.
