Arguably one of the most devastating music industry casualties of 2020 was the cancellation of SXSW. The annual Austin-based music festival is famed for its inclusion of up and coming artists from across the globe.
The festival has announced its return for 2021, and things are looking a little different. Taking to the WWW, the first ever virtual edition of the festival saw the announcement of 100 acts today, with ten Aussies in the mix, including Didirri, Alice Sky and Shannen James.
The online festival will take place from March 16-20. Each artist is set to perform a livestreamed show at a concert venue in their respective hometown.
If you want to nab tickets to this year’s showcase, you can get ’em cheaper now via the SXSW website for $249 USD (or $322 AUD) before they go up in March to $399 USD (or $549 AUD).
