Southbound headliners Disclosure, Bloc Party and Perth rockers Birds of Tokyo will perform at a benefit gig to raise money for the victims of the South West bushfires.
The event, which is scheduled to take place at Mt Claremont’s HBF Stadium tomorrow (Sunday 10th), is also tipped to feature appearances by other friends from the now-cancelled Southbound festival.
Organisers made the call to axe the Busselton event yesterday, after consulting with the West Australian Police, Main Roads Department and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services about the bushfire threat.
“We cannot compromise patron safety and proceed knowing people’s lives are at risk getting to the event,” they said.
Tickets to the six-hour fundraiser event will cost $99 from Ticketmaster, with all net proceeds to go towards the bushfire appeal.
