Disturbed have just finished wrapping up work on their forthcoming seventh album, and they’re taking an interactive approach to decide what the album’s lead single will be.
Using their official website to make an announcement, the band confirmed that their new album is finished.
“The new record is done!,” wrote the band. “The new album includes many styles of music.”
“Since our last album and the recent footage from the studio, we’ve seen a lot of discussion about the evolution of our new music. Disturbed Ones, we have decided to embrace the debate.”
Below the statement, there is a two option poll for fans to answer – one option reads ‘heavy’ and the other reads ‘ballad’. It’s preceded by the question “For our next single – what kind of sound do you want it to be?”
At the time of writing, the ‘heavy’ option is in the lead by a huge margin – 84% voted for heavy, and 16% voted for ballad.
Disturbed aren’t exactly strangers to ballads or lighter styles of music. It’s pretty hard to forget their wildly successful cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘The Sound Of Silence.’ In fact, at one point they’d even planned to release an acoustic EP.
The forthcoming album will mark the band’s first release since 2015’s Immortalised.
