Purveyors of fine hip hop, do we have good news for you – two of the all-time greats of hip hop production, DJ Premier and Pete Rock, are joining forces and heading to Australia to bring you the first instalment of Collusion this May.
DJ Premier should need no introduction – as well as being one half of the genre-defying duo GangStarr, he also produced iconic tracks like Nas‘ NY State of Mind and Biggie‘s Kick In The Door.
Pete Rock boasts a similarly impressive resume. As one half of pioneering duo Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth and producer for acts like Rakim, Run DMC, Raekwon, and Ghostface Killah, he’s been listed as a major inspiration by everyone from Kanye West to the late J Dilla.
Together, they’ll be bringing their massive co-op DJ sets around the country, kicking off on 1st May in Perth before touring around the country. Tickets are available via presale for Frontier members from 12:00pm AEDT on 18th March through to 19th March, while general public tickets are on sale from 9:00am AEDT on Thursday, 20th March.
