Don’t Hold Your Breath For That Childish Gambino & Chance The Rapper EP

If you’ve been waiting with bated breath for the collaborative EP between Childish Gambino and Chance The Rapper then it’s time to exhale. Unfortunately it seems we won’t be getting the EP anytime soon, if at all, with Gambino conceding that the two hip hop stars currently aren’t in a position to work together.

Speaking with Complex, Gambino admitted, “We’re both really busy. Chance is kind of doing his own thing with the College Tour and everything … Plus, we’re in two different spaces. Right now, it just doesn’t feel like the time.”

Word of the possible Gambino/Chance EP surfaced in June after Gambeezy prompted his partner in crime to “hurry up and finish the rest of our EP” after the pair performed together at Governor’s Ball.

Although his collaboration with Chance is off the cards, Gambino did elaborate on the concept behind mixtape/EP STN MNTN/ KAUAI.

“It’s a Gangsta Grillz mixtape that goes into an EP,” Gambino revealed. “The Gangsta Grillz mixtape is sort of like — it’s a dream. And the dream ends when I wake up in Kauai. And they go into each other — it’s one complete project.”

Proceeds from STN MNTN/ KAUAI will go towards helping to keep the Hawaiian island of Kauai clean. You can listen to Sober, the first track from STN MTN / KAUAI, as you weep for what could have been.
