Music festivals are back in action in NSW and so, too, are sniffer dog operations.
Police were out in force at Sydney’s Field Day on New Years Day, charging 85 people with drug offences out of the near 12,000 in attendance.
FYI that’s actually less than half of the crime tally from the fest’s last instalment, pre-COVID.
Just two among the arrested copped drug supply charges, including a 22-year-old male tradie who was allegedly busted with 50 caps of MDMA.
It’s alleged he “struggled with police” during the search process, causing a senior constable minor injuries. He was charged with supplying a prohibited drug, assaulting police and resisting arrest and refused bail ahead of a court appearance today.
Meanwhile, in their coverage of the event, national trash rag The Daily Mail has slut-shamed pretty much everyone in attendance.

Field Day was Sydney’s first major summer music festival since the pandemic reared its ugly head, with performances from Allday, Mallrat and Peking Duk and more.
