Darius Rucker Arrested On Drug Charges, Released On Bond

American country artist Darius Rucker has found himself in legal trouble. The 57-year-old frontman of Hootie & the Blowfish was arrested in William County, Tennessee on Thursday, 1st February on minor drug charges.

The charges include two counts of simple possession and casual exchange of a controlled substance, along with one count of violation of vehicle registration. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Department has not disclosed the specific substance involved.

Darius Rucker was later released on a $10,500 bond. His attorney, Mark Puryear, stated that Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities regarding the charges. Despite the legal situation, Rucker had been set to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on February 2, but he was later removed from the lineup on the venue’s website.

The Grammy-winning musician, Darius Rucker who co-founded Hootie & the Blowfish in 1986, achieved significant success in 1996 with two Grammy awards for Best New Artist and Best Pop Performance for their song ‘Let Her Cry’, which topped several charts and gained him worldwide recognition.

The popular singer has now become the talk of the town due to his arrest on drug charges. However, the further comments from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, about the case remain undisclosed.
