Earl Sweatshirt Releases New Track ‘Burgundy’ Produced By Pharrell

Earl Sweatshirt is keeping the momentum high in the lead-up to the release of his upcoming album Doris by dropping a brand new single Burgundy. For anyone currently trying to avoid the over-saturated Pharrell Williams, well, look elsewhere as the current poster child of music produced the track.

Sweatshirt was joined by his Odd Future cohort Vince Staples on the track, which sees them approach the issues of fame and life without a father much like the other tracks we’ve heard so far. All signs point to Doris being somewhat of a cathartic release though not for a second is Burgundy weak, but rather tough as nails as Sweatshirt takes on the hype head-first and surpasses it. What’s even better is that the track is downloadable for free.

It seems that Earl has been spreading the love, with the rapper lending his skills to a recently released Flying Lotus track featuring MF Doom, and we assure you, it’s as awesome as it sounds. FlyLo debuted the collaboration at a recent live gig; you can watch the fan-filmed footage below. At this point it’s not known whether the track will wind up on Doris, or the upcoming album from FlyLo’s alter ego Captain Murphy.
