Emily Wurramara Returns With Soulful New Single ‘Adore Me’

Fresh off a history-making run that’s seen her scoop up an ARIA, a J Award, and sell out the Sydney Opera House, Emily Wurramara is back with a brand new tune – and it’s a beauty.

Out now via ABC Music, ‘Adore Me’ is a dreamy alt-folk-pop track that explores love in all its forms – not just the romantic kind, but the self-love, tough-love, and the hard-won growth kind too. It’s bright and sun-soaked on the surface, but there’s an emotional undercurrent that adds real weight, as Emily gently unpacks what it means to give and receive love in a messy world.

The song was co-produced by Wurramara alongside longtime collaborator James Mangohig, with extra touches from Tony Buchen, Declan Kelly and a lush chorus of musical mates (including Caiti Baker on vocal duties).

Built on woozy synths, chimes, and warm live instrumentation, the soulful single arrives following a huge year for the Warnindhilyagwa woman, who hails from Groote Eylandt and Milyakburra/Bickerton Island and is now based in lutruwita/Tasmania. After dropping her ARIA-winning second album NARA in 2024, she’s played stages from VIVID to Mardi Gras to the Sydney Opera House, and has plans to head to Canada and the NT’s Garma Festival in the coming months.

In her own words, Wurramara says the song came from an introspective late-night moment at the piano: “I’m a chord girl – I laid them down, hit record, and improvised the hook and verse on the spot,” she says.

“It’s about growth. About understanding the love you deserve, and maybe realising you need to give that love to yourself first.”

‘Adore Me’ is out now on all platforms. You can take it for a spin up above.
