Sir Elton John has opened up about his friendship with Eminem, revealing that the rapper gave him a bit of an X-rated wedding prezzie to celebrate his civil partnership with David Furnish back in 2006.
“I got this package from Eminem and shows you how homophobic he isn’t,” Sir Elton told The Graham Norton Show during his recent guest spot.
“We had two diamond-encrusted c*ck rings, on velvet cushions.
“And I have to say, they have remained unused,” he added, just as an FYI.
The pair struck up an unlikely friendship after performing the Real Slim Shady’s mega-hit ‘Stan’ together at the Grammy Awards back in 2001, which was around the same time that Em had come under fire for alleged homophobia. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) even protested outside the ceremony.
“He was accused of being homophobic by so many people because of his lyrics, which I thought was nonsense,” John told Graham Norton.
“I came out and supported the fact that he isn’t and I appeared on the Grammys with him.”
John went on to admit that he “adores” Em, and that the pair have been close friends “ever since” #nawwwwwww
Elton John recently wrapped up an Australian tour, while ICYMI Eminem just announced his long-awaited new album, Revival.
