Eminem‘s quest to collaborate with every huge popstar on earth continues, with the freshly-inked tracklist for his new album Revival revealing a musical team-up with a certain British gingernut.
Ed Sheeran features on The Real Slim Shady’s tune ‘River’ off his forthcoming disc, which forms the follow-up to 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2. And he’s far from the only one.
As well as Beyoncé‘s big ticket cameo on the LP’s first track ‘Walk On Water’, Revival also features guest vocals from P!nk (returning the favour after he featured on her Beautiful Trauma tune ‘Revenge’ earlier this year) plus Alicia Keys, Kehlani, Skylar Grey and US rock band X Ambassadors.
Hip-hop up-and-comer Phresher is the only guest rapper to score a feat. on the disc, and he’s already spoken about the pair’s collab, calling it “raw as fuck”.
“Yeah, it’s raw as fuck, man. The emotions is just turnt up. It’s a turnt up record. It’s raw. That’s the perfect word for it. Eminem going off. The hook is just [crazy]. We going off. It’s at your throat like ‘Chloraseptic’,” he tells Complex.
“The record is about just spitting, man. Just going off, you get what I’m saying? Just cutthroat, at your throat music. Like, I’m on you, you know what I’m saying? Real right-at-you music. It’s just awesome, man. Eminem went crazy on it.”
Revival will complete Eminem’s trilogy of albums following 2009’s Relapse and 2010’s Recovery.
It’s due to drop just in time for Christmas on Friday, 15th December.
