Evergreen Terrace Vocalist Quits, Says He’s “Too Old For This Shit”

After pulling out of Soundwave 2015 and seeing their drummer suffer serious injuries earlier this year, Florida melodic hardcore outfit Evergreen Terrace have now lost vocalist Andrew Carey.

In a statement provided to Lambgoat, Carey says, “I quit Evergreen Terrace. As Danny Glover would often say in the hit movies from the ’90s, Lethal Weapon 1, 2, and 3, ‘I’m getting too old for this shit.’ Thanks to everyone who supported us throughout the years.”

In a post to their Facebook page (below), Evergreen Terrace have confirmed Carey’s resignation, saying, “As many of you know, Andrew hasn’t been performing with ET for quite a while in order to focus on a career in nursing. Today he is officially leaving the band after 15 years of killing it. Wish him well!”

Carey co-founded Evergreen Terrace in 1999, and handled the band’s screaming vocal lines, with Craig Chaney performing the clean vocals after joining in 2000.

After drummer Brad Moxley was seriously injured in a ladder accident earlier this year, Evergreen Terrace cancelled their Australian jaunt for Soundwave 2015. Following the accident, a crowdfunding page was set up to help Moxley and his family.

Evergreen Terrace’s latest album, Dead Horses, was released in 2013. The band are yet to announce a replacement for Carey.
