Everything Everything Debut ‘Don’t Try’ Video, Directed By Frontman Jonathan Higgs

Cult favourites Everything Everything have released the video for their latest single Don’t Try, another slice of complex pop candy taken from the Manchester quartet’s second studio album, Arc, and like most of their videos, this one’s a self-directed effort from frontman Jonathan Higgs.

Dude is clearly a rather multi-talented individual, creating a piece of colourful chaos featuring wild horses, some classic artwork and dinner guests gone wild. It’s a very suggestive piece, and in a recent interview, the singer confirmed to Music Feeds that the song is about depression, and letting it all out rather than trying to hide it:

“It’s such a straightforward lyric that’s really lean and it’s really easy to understand and really easy to mean it every night.

It’s a good way of saying it, I think. Just talk about it. Don’t try to hide it ’cause it will get you, it will fuck you up if you don’t talk about it. I think it’s a very easy and true thing to say.”

Everything Everything are heading to our shores in July to play Splendour In The Grass, as well as their own headlining shows in Sydney and Melbourne, presented by Music Feeds.
