EXCLUSIVE: Stream Made In Japan’s New Album ‘Tame All Those Thoughts’ In Full

Sydney four-piece Made in Japan first made their highly melodic and pop-drenched take on indie rock known with last year’s Sights and Sounds. The band have returned with their sophomore effort, Tame All Those Thoughts and are offering Music Feeds readers the exclusive opportunity for a first listen before its release this Friday.

The new album is a statement of intent for this poised and ambitious Aussie group. Said vocalist and drummer James Cooney: “After the first album we were really clear with where we wanted to go with this one and just headed straight back into the studio.”

Ignoring the ‘sequel anxiety’ that strikes most bands as they enter the studio for their second album, Cooney added that the band “really took [their] time crafting this one, and it shows.” This new collection of lush and introspective dream pop has already yielded the single, History, the new video for which is also premiering below.

Quickly gaining momentum upon release, the band have celebrated the release of History with a dazzling video directed by Tim Russell, with cinematography by John Gatliff. The single is the first taste of what Cooney has called “the most honest and unique material we’ve ever produced.”

Tame All Those Thoughts is slated for released on Friday, 1st November 2013, through MGM. The band will be officially launching the new album with a quick run of live dates, beginning in Melbourne on Thursday, 21st November, before a Sydney show on Saturday, 30th November.
