Fairgrounds Festival 2016 Lineup Expands

Fairgrounds Festival 2016 just got even bigger with a brand new crop of artists joining the already stacked lineup.

Buzzed-about Sydney trio and recent FBi Northern Lights competition winners Middle Kids will hit the stage at the two-day event, alongside Melbourne’s Gabriella Cohen, while fellow Victorian Ali Barter will open festivities on Friday with her raucous, purposeful guitar-pop.

South Coast troubadour Bec Sandridge will perform a stripped-back solo set, while Sydney storyteller Adam Gibson will return to Fairgrounds for a second year to open the intimate Newtown Social Club Stage with his hilarious and moving spoken-word tales, backed by his band The Ark-Ark Birds.

They join previously announced acts like The Drones, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Rodriguez, Big Scary, Jagwar Ma and Sarah Blasko on the eclectic bill.

And if the lure of aforementioned artists isn’t enticing enough, Fairgrounds will be boasting a vast array of local culinary delights from the likes of Prestige Oyster Company, The Mac Merchants, Gourmet Goons, Bovine & Swine and many more.

Due to overwhelming demand from punters travelling great distances for a slice of the action, Fairgrounds is also expanding the Rivercamp, with a buttload more tents now on offer.

With the first release of tickets nearly sold out, and newly released camping options now on the cards, Fairgrounds Festival 2016 looks set to be another solid addition to the summer festival season.
