Fan Dies At Vans Warped Tour; Toronto

Organisers of the internationally renowned Vans Warped Tour have been quick to warn fans of the dangers of overheating given the crazy hot climate the festival is currently operating in. Though they are yet to directly address the issue, heat is said to be a contributing factor to a young fan’s death at the event over the weekend.

According to Billboard, the festivalgoer was aged nineteen or early twenties. She was found laying on the grass with no vital signs. Those who found her attempted CPR, with several people trying life saving procedures, though none of them had success.

When medics showed up they began life support measures, which also failed to revive the girl. The tragedy took place in front of The Flats @ Molson Amphitheatre at around 12:40pm (40 minutes after doors opened) on the final Canadian leg of the 2012 Warped franchise. I’ve had a solid hunt to find which band was performing at the stage, to no avail; any ideas guys?

Everyone around at the time was cleared of any wrongdoing and the police have labelled a preexisting medical condition as the key suspect for the girl’s death. This is a strong reminder to always stay hydrated when at festivals.

Update: Monday, 3:46pm.

While Warped Tour are yet to issue their official statement, more information has come through in regards to the fans passing. 19 year-old Taylor Nesseth is said to have passed away due to a heart attack. The teenager, from Ontario, Canada had been waiting for the event for a long time, even delivering a now heart breaking tweet voicing her excitement. It has also been revealed that Chelsea Grin were on stage when Nesseth first collapsed. The band has released an official statement via twitter, check it out below.
