Father John Misty Makes His Return With Two New Songs

Father John Misty has today marked his return with his first new tracks since 2018 – ‘To R.’ and ‘To S.’.

The two singles come as part of the Sub Pop Singles Club revival. The subscription service enjoyed an initial run from 1988 and 1993, before running again from 1998 – 2002 and 2008 – 2009, and released exclusive singles from the likes of Nirvana and Sonic Youth on vinyl.

Josh Tillman’s last original musical offering under FJM came in the form of his 2018 album, God’s Favorite Customer. However, earlier this year, he released a cover EP titled Anthem +3, consisting of four covers of songs by the likes of Leonard Cohen, Link Wray and Cat Stevens.

In addition, he also released a live album, titled Off-Key In Hamburg, in early March that was recorded in August of last year. All proceeds from the album went to MusiCares coronavirus relief fund, which was set up in conjunction with the Recording Academy.
