The unholy trinity of Fear Factory, Exodus and Terror Universal will join forces for two monster Soundwave 2015 sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne this month.
The Sidewaves will hit Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Monday, February 23rd, and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Wednesday, February 25th, in the week adjoining both cities’ instalments of the festival.
The headlining dates will give Fear Factory fans the chance to experience the industrial metal pioneers in a more intimate setting, outside of their festival performances. Burton C. Bell told Music Feeds last year that the band’s festival and headline shows are different beasts.
“Being able to perform to a large audience in Australia is great for the band in general,” the frontman said. “It exposes the band to new audiences, new fans, some classic and some die-hard fans will be there, there’ll be some people who’ve never heard of Fear Factory, who’ll get a chance to see us. We’re there to play for everybody.
“We’re there to perform, enjoy ourselves and have a good time, and play a fucking killer show. And if I have the opportunity to see Faith No More and Soundgarden and Ministry and Godflesh, dude, that’s gonna be awesome. I can’t wait.”
Bell has also teased that the band will be playing “at least one” new song from the forthcoming disc during their set and headlining sideshows for Soundwave 2015.
These will also be the first shows outside of Europe for maksed metal mysteriosos, Terror Universal. Tickets to Fear Factory’s Sidewaves with Exodus and Terror Universal go on sale this Thursday, February 5th, from 9am AEDT.
