Fiona Apple Shares Christmas Song ‘Trump’s Nuts Roasting On An Open Fire’

US singer-songwriter Fiona Apple has gotten into the Christmas spirit, recording an a capella cover of Nat King Cole’s Christmas classic The Christmas Song.

She’s put a decisively anti-Donald Trump spin on the song, re-jigging the opening lyric to be “Trump’s Nuts Roasting On An Open Fire,” and spending the rest of the track taking pot shots at Trump’s racist and misogynistic tendencies.

Some of her more hard-hitting lyrics include, “Everybody knows some money and entitlement can help to make the season white/Mothers of color with their kids out of sight will find it hard to sleep at night.”

She ends the clip by tearing up a picture of Donald, just to ram her point home.

Apple is far from the first musician to take aim at Trump through song, with various artists including Death Cab For Cutie, Green Day and Pearl Jam either writing or covering songs to attack the Donald over the course of 2016.
