Everyone’s favourite Aunty Meredith has confirmed the acts that will take the stage at the ninth edition of the Golden Plains music festival, set to take over the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre in March 2015.
Aunty Meredith leaked the information via her personal Twitter account this evening after downing, in her own words “a few sherries”. In just over half an hour the entire Golden Plains lineup was announced, culminating in the announcement that the kings of disco, the Village People themselves will be bringing the hits to Golden Plains stages in 2015.
Aunty revealed that the UK’s Aldous Harding, the solo outing for local kid Martha Brown bAnoffee, Sydney producer/vocalists Black Vanilla, African rockers Bombino as well as Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst and Australian golden girl Courtney Barnett will all take the stage for Golden Plains 2015.
Also playing the event will be sisterly folk duo First Aid Kit, Brisbane rockers Hits, Scandinavian hard rockers Graveyard, local cloud rap extraordinaires Milwaukee Banks, loved Melburnians Something For Kate, Texas-via-New York rock n roll combo Parquet Courts as well as DJ Shadow alongside Jurassic 5 member and DJ legend Cut Chemist.
Golden Plains 2015 is going with a space theme, and earlier this month organisers teased that they have “set the controls for the heart of Premium Mode, with even more Spacious Spacey Space for general cosmic engagement”.
Tickets for Golden Plains 2015 are once again available via ballot which is open now until 9.09pm Tuesday 21st October. Golden Plains 2015 is again BYO, there are no commercial sponsors and as per usual the strict “No Dickheads” policy will be in full force.
Golden Plains also abides by a “One Stage” policy so punters don’t miss anything throughout the festival, which goes hand-in-hand with the absence of VIP packages so that, according to Aunty Meredith, “everyone flies first class.”
The one type of ticket covers the entire long weekend and is $328.80 + $10 booking + $7 Registered Post, camping and parking included. Readers can check below for all details, including dates and the full lineup for Golden Plains 2015.
