Fontaines D.C. have announced their return to Australia, playing a mix of headlining shows and festival dates. The Irish post-punk band, fresh from releasing their fourth studio album Romance, will be in the country over a series of weeks from late February to mid-March for their second tour of the country. The band were announced as part of the Golden Plains line-up last week, alongside the likes of PJ Harvey, Thelma Plum, 2manydjs, Magdalena Bay, Osees and fellow Irish act Kneecap – whose single ‘Better Way To Live’ features frontman Grian Chatten on its hook. Today (October 23rd), they were announced as part of the line-up for Yours & Owls festival in Wollongong, where they will perform alongside the likes of Denzel Curry, The Kooks and the Goo Goo Dolls over the weekend.
Fontaines D.C. – ‘Favourite’
Joining the band for all dates except Golden Plains will be English rock band Wunderhorse, making their Australian debut. The Newquay-founded band previously toured with Fontaines in 2022 in support of their third album Skinty Fia, and released their second album Midas earlier in the year.
Fontaines D.C. finally toured Australia in February 2023, after several delays. They were originally slated to play at the 2020 Laneway Festival, but cancelled their appearance to complete work on their second album A Hero’s Death. They moved their headlining shows to April 2020, then again to December 2020, again to December 2021 and finally to February 2023.
