Franz Ferdinand Give Camp Horror The ‘Evil Eye’ In New Video

Proving that they’ve got a wicked sense of humour, Scottish art rockers Franz Ferdinand are getting their camp horror on, delivering a comically grotesque 3-minutes of hilarity in the form of the video for their latest single, Evil Eye, directed by the woman behind the videos for Blurred Lines and We Can’t Stop, Diane Martel.

The track comes for the quartet’s latest studio effort Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions and stars a rather ’70s porno-esque incarnation of the band, complete with frontman Alex Kapranos sporting a dashing pencil mustache. There’s all the cheap horror effects and gore you could possibly ever want in this very NSFW spectacular, so save it for out of work hours and prepare to feel a little grossed out.

Says frontman Kapranos of the new clip, “The video is a gruesome blood orgy eye stab death romp wide-oh creep necro fest. Play this on the telly if you dare you fuckers.” Thanks, Alex. You too are a fucker.

Franz Ferdinand are slated to head our way to play November’s Harvest Festival, although there’s been plenty of talk from the mouth of promoter AJ Maddah that the boutique festival is in trouble and may be facing cancellation. Here’s hoping the Glaswegians will still make their way Down Under regardless.
