Want to let your inner songbird fly free like Florence Welch? Well you’re in luck because the flame-haired Florence + The Machine frontwoman has just teamed up with the crew at Apple to create a bunch of FREE music classes.
Yep, Florence is joining forces with a different kind of machine…
The ‘Today At Apple’ Music Lab seshes for budding musos will launch at Apple Stores across Australia tomorrow (Friday, 13th July), using Florence as a (very pretty) guinea pig to show how artists can turn their emotions into sound, using simple software like GarageBand.
The sesh will kick off with a video starring Florence, who’ll guide her pupils through her own creative approach to music, using “intuition” and what’s around her to inspire her songwriting. Apple’s Creative Pros will then be on hand for the remainder of the Lab to help you practice the techniques IRL, and make your own beats/layer your own sounds in-store using Apple software.
The ‘Today at Apple’ series is essentially a bunch of free educational sessions in photography, design, music, coding and more, and the hour-long Florence co-created music class will now be an official part of the curriculum.
Anyone can sign up for the sessions (or any other ‘Today at Apple’ sessions for that matter) right here, right now.
Meanwhile, fans can also catch Florence + The Machine live when they come to Australia for a new tour in 2019.
