Crooked Saints release new EP

Tim Wheatley and Michael Badger have combined forces again for new Melbourne outfit Crooked Saint and have come up with the distinctly Australian sounding EP Every Angry Inch.

Tim Wheatley and Michael Badger are friends going way back to school days and played together in the much hyped band The Sparrows with that band’s success culminating in a self-titled EP released through Sony BMG. Fast forward a few years, Michael Badger has been keeping himself busy with his band The Demon Parade and Tim Wheatley was working away in his bedroom on demos without outside influences of a band for the first time in his musical career. The two then rekindled their long term friendship and musical partnership and set about arranging and re-recording the demos. The new songs of Crooked Saint emerged with Australian legends The Triffids and Paul Kelly easy to reference as big influences here.

The boys bunkered down in Badger’s Jaya Jaya studios in Melbourne for several months of intensive recording and mixing, with additional production undertaken at State of the Ark Studios in London. While the EP was mastered, Wheatley sent around the mixes to several mates putting out the feelers for musicians to take Crooked Saint to the live stage, and within weeks had a band with serious musical chops rehearsing away.

Check out Crooked Saint on Saturday 2nd July 2011 at The Toff in Town with Tessa & The Typecast.

The Every Angry Inch EP is available for exclusive download via iTunes and MGM Distribution.
