Good Things have shared a slew of headlining sideshows for a large portion of its 2024 line-up, ranging from marquee headliners to smaller international acts further down the bill. The shows will take place from early to mid-December, in and around the 72-hour window of the festival itself – which takes place on Friday, December 6th in Melbourne, Saturday, December 7th in Sydney and Sunday, December 8th in Brisbane. The full list, along with ticketing information, can be found below.
The round of sideshows was pre-empted by the festival’s headliner, Korn, announcing their sole sideshow at the AEC Arena in Adelaide. That show – set to take place on Wednesday, December 4th – has since sold out, with no other shows for the band announced outside of Good Things.
Heading up the sideshows announcement are Canadian pop-punk veterans Sum 41, who will return to Australia for the final time ahead of their last show in January 2025. The band has been on the Tour Of The Setting Sum since late 2023, and recently released their eighth and final studio album, Heaven :x: Hell. Joining them for all shows except Sydney will be Canadian emo-rapper Grandson.
Sum 41 – ‘The Hell Song’
Other sideshows announced include an exclusive performance from the Violent Femmes in Melbourne at the Palais Theatre in St. Kilda – where the band will be celebrating their first two albums, 1983’s Violent Femmes and 1984’s Hallowed Ground. Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan will play his first Australian solo shows since 2005, while Slayer guitarist Kerry King will play his first-ever Australian solo shows, supporting Mastodon.
At the time of writing, only a selection of the sideshows have special guests announced. Along with the aforementioned Sum 41 and Mastodon shows, The Delta Riggs will be joining Corgan as both his opener and his backing band. Elsewhere, American pop artist Taylor Acorn will support Bowling For Soup and Australia’s own Alex Lahey will open for American rock band Destroy Boys.
