Gotye Nominated for 2 MTV Video Music Awards Awards

The Music Network has announced that Gotye is up for 2 VMA Awards under the categories of ‘Best Editing’ and ‘Video of the Year’ for the clip that accompanies the song that keeps on giving, Somebody That I Used to Know.

The music video, which has spawned a few parody’s such as this Star Wars version, was directed by Natasha Pincus and is against some stiff competition with the likes of Katy Perry and Rihanna also vying for video of the year.

As far as editing is concerned, Gotye comes up against Kanye West, Kanye West & Jay-Z and Beyoncé (or that is to say the people who edited their videos). Lord knows the possible repercussion should Gotye wins that category.
