Wally De Backer (aka Gotye) has added to his list of awards and accolades by taking out three APRA music prizes last night, including the coveted, peer-voted APRA Song of the Year. The event took place last night at the Parkside Ballroom, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, and saw his smash hit single Somebody That I Used to Know walk away with the top prize, as well as winning Most Played Australian Work and himself winning Songwriter of the Year.
Other winners included LMFAO winning International Work of the Year for Party Rock Anthem, Busby Marou taking the Blues & Roots Work of the Year with Biding My Time and Birds of Tokyo taking Rock Work of the Year.
Gotye, however, didn’t take out the Most Played Australian Work Overseas Award, with that one going to AC/DC for Highway To Hell.
