Great Southern Nights Program Expands With Ball Park Music, Confidence Man And More

After launching in 2020, NSW concert initiative Great Southern Nights is returning this year throughout March and April, with Courtney Barnett, Amy Shark, Baker Boy, The Veronicas and stacks more already announced as part of the program.

Today, organisers have announced the bill has expanded with over 30 new acts, with Ball Park Music, Confidence Man, Illy, Kate Ceberano, Montaigne and The Jungle Giants among the names that are joining the bill.

Set to kick off on Friday, 18th March and continue until Sunday, 10th April, the three-week program will once again traverse many corners of NSW – including Sydney, Byron Bay, Albury and Broken Hill. Boasting both big names and emerging talent, Allday, Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays, JK-47, Haiku Hands, Middle Kids and Northlane are just a few of the other acts that appear on the bill.

In a statement, ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd said she hoped the initiative would “reignite” the state’s live music scene as it struggles amid the third year of the pandemic. “Great Southern Nights will have artists, crew and music venues back to doing what they love and do best – putting on shows and getting people out to experience the joy of live music again” she commented.

“Great Southern Nights was such a huge success in 2020 and is exactly what our industry needs right now, so we’re excited to see Australia’s best talent wanting to be involved in 2022..”
