The Harvest Festival 2012 lineup will be released this Thursday, according to organisers (tweet below) after weeks of anticipation. It’s been on the cards to be announced for a few weeks now after we originally got news from head man AJ Maddah that we would be getting it for around the end of May.
Update 14/06/2012: Harvest Festival 2012 Lineup is here
But a tweet tonight can now put us at rest in the knowledge that we can finally see whats on offer to top last years acts, which saw headliners like The Flaming Lips, who were an experience to see live just by themselves, TV on the Radio and The National just to name a few.
Already we have seen New York’s Grizzly Bear locked in, and promoter AJ Maddah has ruled out the likes of Grimes, The xx, Foals and Hot Chip as well as The Cure, Beck and Sigur Ros (one or two potentially but not all three), but if ‘Mr. Info’ is anything legit, we’ll also get Silversun Pickups and Pond as well.
Hopefully this isn’t another tease from organisers who previously announced a lineup announcement as being ‘imminent’. Harvest is fast becoming an Australian institution, selling out the Melbourne leg last year. Brought to you by the same cats behind Soundwave with the idea in mind of bringing a European-styled festival to our shores, minus the filler acts we’ve seen four thousand times.
