Hear Deftones Legend Chino Moreno’s Sinister New Solo Single ‘Brief Exchange’

Deftones frontman Chino Moreno has unleashed a new solo track as part of DC Comics’ forthcoming Dark Nights: Metal soundtrack.

Dubbed ‘Brief Exchange’, the sinister, heavy tune sees Chino getting both his whisper and his scream on as it ebbs and flows between intimate and aggressive.

The Dark Nights: Metal soundtrack was first announced in 2017, with Warner Bros. teaming up with the Batman talent team of writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo to bring it to fruition.

“As both a musician and fan of heavy metal music, having a soundtrack for Dark Nights: Metal is pretty awesome,” Capullo at the time (via Loudwire). “I really like the concept of having hard-driving, heavy music as a complement to the incredible story that Scott and I are telling.”

Chino’s contribution is the second track off its tracklist to drop, the first being Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor’s solo song, ‘Red Death’ (listen below).

Marilyn Manson collaborator Tyler Bates and producer Mike Elizondo both performed on Chino’s song, alongside Dillinger Escape Plan and Puscifer’s Gil Sharone on drums.
