Hear Lady Gaga’s Crazy-Hyped New Kevin Parker & Mark Ronson Collab ‘Perfect Illusion’

After weeks of buzz that saw it top the charts before it had even been bloody released, Lady Gaga‘s first new song since 2013’s ARTPOP is finally here.

Perfect Illusion, which was produced by a musical megasquad including Mark Ronson, BloodPop (whose CV includes Justin Bieber’s mega-hit single Sorry) and Australia’s own psych rock king Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, was hype-propelled to the number one spot on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks and Billboard + Twitter Trending charts two full weeks ago.

And now, here it is! And it turns out the track is less psych and more 80’s dance rock, with Mother Monster once again wearing her Madonna influences on her sleeve (the Perfect Illusion hook melody sounds a helluva lot like Papa Don’t Preach IMO)

The song’s still packing plenty of KP trademarks though, including creamy synths and an anthemic key change, but Gaga’s vocals are infinitely more ballsy and powerful than anything you’ve heard before from Tame Impala.

TBH it’s awesome to see the pop kween busting out some fist-pumping blues rock vocals at the song’s climax #rawk

Perfect Illusion has been sliced of Gaga’s as-yet-untitled 5th LP, the details about which are still pretty scarce.

We’ll keep you updated on that front, Monsters. But in the meantime, cram Perfect Illusion into your ears below.
