Free Nationals, best known as the live backing band for Anderson. Paak, have shared a new song ‘Time’. The single features vocals from Kali Uchis along with a posthumous verse by Mac Miller recorded last year, months before his untimely death.
“I’m making the wrong decisions and you sick of it all / but don’t leave me, don’t leave me” raps Mac on the band’s vibey funk track. As Pitchfork reports, Miller’s verse was recorded back in May 2018. He passed away in September of that year.
‘Time’ will be included on Free Nationals’ debut album, which is due out later this year. The first taste of the hyped and apparently collab-heavy album came in October with ‘Beauty & Essex’, featuring Daniel Caesar and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
