Hear The Vines’ Explosive Comeback Single ‘Metal Zone’

After announcing their highly anticipated sixth studio album Wicked Nature last week, Sydney garage rock heroes The Vines have now dropped the album’s official first single, the quick-hitting rock freak-out Metal Zone.

Shot largely in black and white, the explosive video for Metal Zone (below) captures the track’s erratic nature, with frontman Craig Nicholls‘ vocals screaming over the top of some propulsive drumming and grunge-y guitars. It’s two-and-a-half minutes of pure Vines energy, and a reminder that the group are far from being silenced.

The Vines have noted that Wicked Nature has been “made for the fans” as a double-LP with 22 tracks. The first disc was co-produced by Nicholls and producer Paul McKercher, whilst the second was produced solely by Nicholls.

The album, which is being marked as The Vines’ first independent full-length release, is out 2nd September and is available for pre-order now via PledgeMusic. A minimum donation will give you a digital copy of the album on release, and instant downloads of Out the Way, Anything You Say and Everything Else.

Todd Wagstaff, who discovered The Vines back in 2001, has written on the PledgeMusic page, “Wicked Nature is the heaviest the band have released,” and also explained that the funds raised will “go into recording and financing a new team of radio, publicity and online agents we have engaged around the world to promote The Vines’ music.”
