ICYMI: Aussie music is back on our free-to-air TV screens thanks to The Sound, ABC‘s fresh weekly, hour-long series that puts the nation’s most exciting artists through exclusive, pre-recorded live performances, collabs and interviews.
The show has just lifted the lid on this week’s instalment and, as per usual, it is STACKED.
Co-hosted by five-time Logie Award winner Deborah Mailman, Episode 5 will feature performances by national treasure Jessica Mauboy, plus Kate Miller-Heidke, Ball Park Music, Tkay Maidza, CXLOE, Lastlings, NIMA ‘New Talent Of The Year’ Award winner Miiesha and Melbourne singer/songwriter Shannen James as this week’s “Introducing” artist.
And that’s not all, we’re also being treated to a “From The Vault” segment starring Hoodoo Gurus’ 2009 Sound Relief performance at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and a tribute to legendary Aussie act The Go-Betweens from a supergroup comprised of The Church’s Steve Kilbey, Something For Kate’s Paul Dempsey, Brisbane singer/songwriter Hatchie and Sydney rockers Middle Kids.
Catch Episode Five of The Sound airing this Sunday, 16th August at 5.30pm on ABC or iview (repeats Saturday 22 August at 12.30pm).
