With Splendour In The Grass rumours heating up ahead of the festival’s 2018 lineup announcement, we just got our first BIG hint at which big-name acts could be performing at this year’s Byron Bay shindig.
The Wombats may have already said they’re “definitely” playing Splendour this year, and Arctic Monkeys might still have a huge Splendour-sized hole in their tour schedule, but our biggest hint yet comes courtesy of Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival, which often shares a number of acts with Splendour In The Grass.
Fuji Rock announced its first set of acts for 2018 today, and given that it’s set to take place just days after Splendour, there’s a good chance we’ll see some of the acts involved head down under.
So who have Fuji Rock locked in?
Well, they’ve got the likes of Hottest 100-winner Kendrick Lamar, reunited rap-rock heroes N.E.R.D, dubstep icon Skrillex and indie mainstays like CHVRCHES, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Years & Years and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals. Check out the first list of acts announced, below.
Last year, Splendour and Fuji Rock shared a number of acts, including headliners LCD Soundsystem, The xx and Queens Of The Stone Age. A number of high profile acts have already been rules out of Splendour 2018 however, including the likes of The Killers, Liam Gallagher, Travis Scott and Gorillaz.
Splendour In The Grass is scheduled to take place between 20th and 22nd July, while Fuji Rock will go down between 27th and 29th July.
