Aussie heavy music streaming station The Faction have revealed the results of their Hardest 100 of 2020 after counting down the results live on the air over the weekend.
The top slot on this year’s edition of the annual countdown went to UK metalcore stalwarts Architects, securing #1 with their For Those That Wish to Exist single ‘Animals’.
Incredibly, it marks the third time the band have taken top honour in the countdown. They won the inaugural edition with ‘Doomsday’, and won the Hardest 100 of 2018 countdown for ‘Hereafter’ – both songs appearing on 2018 album Holy Hell.
Following Architects on this year’s list was Alpha Wolf, who came in second place with ‘Akudama’. Not far behind were Polaris, Bring Me the Horizon and Eskimo Callboy, who all managed to crack the top five with ‘Hypermania’, ‘Parasite Eve’ and ‘Hypa Hypa’, respectively.
Over 40,000 votes were tallied for this year’s countdown, with 55% of the list made up of local acts, including In Hearts Wake, The Amity Affliction, Make Them Suffer, Northlane, Diamond Construct and Stand Atlantic, to name just a few.
