Here’s What In Hearts Wake Would Look Like If They Were In Mumford And Sons

Turns out Byron Bay boys In Hearts Wake known how to rock a banjo, or at least look comfortable holding one.

In what appears to be celebration of the news that their recently released third studio album Skydancer is closing in on Mumford & Sons new release Wilder Mind on the ARIA album charts, In Hearts Wake have shared a picture of what they would look like dressed as the British outfit. They kind of pull it off too.

Tongue in cheek image aside, the post-hardcore troupe told fans they are genuinely excited by the Skydancer‘s success thus far, which is especially impressive given how the Sydney storms wreaked havoc on its release.

“What once seemed like an unrealistic milestone is all of a sudden something thats being considered. Any band of our genre entering the ‘mainstream’ Top 10 is already a win either way. So we thought, rather than worry ourselves about what might happen, we’ll just show you a photo of us dressed as Mumford and Sons, and trust that you know which record you should buy before Friday!,” they wrote on Facebook along with the hashtag, “‪#‎nobanjos‬”.

To be fair, Mumford And Sons are also on the ‪#‎nobanjos‬ train this time around, having plugged in and “gone electric” on their third studio album. They also seemed to have re-thought that desert-living aristocrat look that the In Hearts Wake boys happen to suit so well.

“I think it would be fair to say that we’ve noticed that in some of our old photos we look like absolute idiots,” explained keyboardist Ben Lovett recently. “There were so many car crashes. We look like us in our photos now. I don’t even want to describe how we used to look.”

In Heart’s Wake are taking their new tunes out on the road for a national tour later this month. Mumford And Sons have also indicated they plan on touring Australia sometime this year.

Both bands are yet to announce what they’ll be wearing on stage.
