Hey now, hey nowwwwww… this is what dreeeeeeeams are maaaade of!! Hilary Duff has officially announced her long-awaited return to global touring, and Australia is firmly on the itinerary.
The multiplatinum pop icon – aka the face of a generation raised on Lizzie McGuire, low-rise jeans and emotionally formative mall pop – will bring the lucky me tour Down Under this October as part of her first full-scale world tour in nearly two decades.
Hilary Duff – ‘Roommates’
Aussie fans can catch Duff live in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, with GRAMMY-winning electro-pop trailblazer La Roux joining as special guest across all dates.
The tour arrives in celebration of Duff’s sixth studio album luck… or something, landing February 20 (pre-order here) – her first full body of new music since 2015’s Breathe In. Breathe Out. (which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, no biggie).
And make no mistake, this isn’t just a nostalgia lap. Duff’s pop comeback has been warmly received across the board, with new singles signalling a confident, modern evolution of her sound. Current single ‘Roommates’ is climbing pop radio, while earlier release ‘Mature’ racked up millions of streams in its first week and earned praise for pushing her sonic palette forward while keeping that unmistakable Hilary charm intact.
Fans have already shown up in force. Her recent Small Rooms, Big Nerves comeback shows sold out instantly, offering intimate preview performances that marked her first headline concerts in over a decade. Vegas residency dates followed suit – also sold out – making it pretty clear the Duff renaissance is very much underway.
If anything, the lucky me tour feels less like a comeback and more like a full-circle pop moment. From Metamorphosis shifting millions of copies in the early 2000s to a new era of self-assured songwriting and arena-sized touring, Duff is stepping back onto the stage with serious momentum – and Australia’s getting a front-row seat.
