Hunters & Collectors Announce First Australian Tour Since 1998

Melbourne rock heroes Hunters & Collectors have announced their first Australian tour since 1998, with a 10-stop run of shows in 2014 as part of the A Day On The Green winery event, as well as theatre shows in both Sydney and Melbourne.

When Hunters & Collectors called it a day 15 years ago, they were a multi-platinum selling band with five top 10 albums under their belts. Frontman Mark Seymour has had a strong solo career since that time, but this tour will see him rejoin with bandmates Jack Howard, Michael Waters, Jeremy Smith, Doug Falconer, Barry Palmer and John Archer.

The Hunnas will be joined by an impressive array of acts as supports for the shows. Two strong Melbourne rock groups, Something For Kate and British India, will open proceedings at all Day On The Green shows, some of which will also feature appearances from You Am I and Diesel (Mark Lizotte). Davey Lane’s The Panics will be the support act for both theatre shows.

This tour announcement follows a surge of renewed interest in the band, spearheaded by the release of tribute album Crucible – The Songs Of Hunters & Collectors, which features Birds Of Tokyo, Neil Finn, Eddie Vedder plus others and is in stores tomorrow.

Hunnas will also be performing at the AFL Grand Final this Saturday and have also been included as special guests on the Melbourne leg of Bruce Springsteen’s February tour.

Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday, 11th October. Pre-sale tickets for theatre shows start at noon on Tuesday, 8th October via Frontier Touring. Check out the full tour details below.

UPDATE: By popular demand, another Sydney show has been added for the Hunters’ tour to take place Saturday, 5th April once again at The Enmore. Like the previously announced show, The Panics will also be supporting. Tickets are on sale now.

UPDATE 2: Yet another new show, this time for Melbourne’s Palais after the first date sold out. Details below.
