Reunited and set to release their first studio album in six years, Australian metalcore royalty I Killed The Prom Queen have today unleashed To The Wolves, the first track from the much anticipated Beloved, to be released on 14th February via Epitaph Records.
I Killed The Prom Queen recorded Beloved, their third studio effort, this year in Gothenburg, Sweden with Fredrik Nordström (Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, In Flames, Dimmu Brogir, Architects UK). “We’ve really extended ourselves,” said lead guitarist and original member Jona Weinhofen. “But we’ve done it in a way where it’s tasteful and it makes sense with the music. It’s not like we’ve gone from sounding like a metalcore band to sounding like Dimmu Borgir. It still sounds very much like Prom Queen.”
IKTPK has undergone a number of line up changes and extended periods of hiatus since their inception in 200. The current line up since the band’s reformation in 2011 includes original guitarist/keyboardist Jona Weinhofen, joined by new screamer Jamie Hope (ex-Red Shore), drummer Shane O’Brien, guitarist Kevin Cameron and bassist Benjamin Coyte.
