Indonesian Singer Irma Bule Dies After Being Bitten By Cobra On Stage

Indonesian dangdut singer Irma Bule has died over the weekend after a king cobra she was performing with as part of her act bit her on her thigh.

Performing in a village in Karawang, West Java, the 29 year old, who is known for performing with snakes, reportedly refused antidote from the snake handler after being bitten. Continuing singing and dancing after the incident, the effect of the bite eventually kicked in and she collapsed.

“In the middle of the second song, Irma stepped on the snake’s tail. The snake then bit Irma in her thigh,” witness Ferlando Octavion Auzura was quoted by local media outlet Merdeka as saying.

“The effects were felt 45 minutes after the bite. She vomited, had seizures, and her body seized,” Auzura said.

Irma Bule was then taken to a nearby hospital but unfortunately passed away soon after arrival.

There is some amateur footage of the moment the snake bit Bule which you can watch here as well as footage from an earlier performance by Irma below.
