Is Linkin Park About To Announce Lzzy Hale As Their New Singer?

ICYMI, Linkin Park is painfully edging the whole fandom right now. The nu metal icons, who’ve been on hiatus since the tragic death of frontman Chester Bennington in 2017, recently launched a 100-hour countdown clock on their official website, triggering mass speculation that an announcement about their new singer – and possible accompanying tour dates – was imminent…

Well, said countdown clock hit zero last week, and apparently started counting back up again. Now, we’ve been left with a YouTube link that’s set to go live at 8am AEST this Friday, 6th September.

WATCH: Lzzy Hale Covers ‘Crawling’

Amid all the frustration, confusion and continued hype, Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale has now triggered a new rumour that she herself may be the band’s mysterious new singer, after posting a piano cover of Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory megahit ‘Crawling’ on social media, with zero context.

The comment section naturally exploded, with fans posting comments like “Lzzy is there anything you’d like to tell us…..???”, “the timing on this makes me think certain things…” and “Chester would be proud Lzzy”.

It comes after Orgy frontman Jay Gordon, a previous Linkin Park collaborator, recently sent the rumour mill into overdrive by spilling the word on the street that the nu metal icons had bagged themselves a new female singer.

The internet originally figured our own Stand Atlantic frontwoman Bonnie Fraser had been tapped for the blockbuster gig, given the insane cover of ‘Bleed It Out’ she ripped with Mike Shinoda himself last year. But Bon has since poured water on those rumours.

Guess all will be revealed on Friday! Watch this space….
