Jack Black Says Tenacious D Recently Recorded With Jack White In Nashville

In what seems like some kind of cosmic inevitability, Jack Black and Jack White have joined forces at long last, making the severely overplayed “Jack Grey” joke a tangible reality.

At a Tenacious D show in Nashville on the weekend, Black told the crowd “Jack White, we went over to his house today and recorded a brand new song,” the Tennessean reports.

Black went on to say that the track will be released via White’s own Third Man Records label, and while it’s obviously unclear exactly what kind of collaboration went down, it looks like we’ll know more details pretty soon.

The recording session was not the first time the two Jacks have crossed paths. Back in June, the pair met for reportedly the first time ever when they were both at Heathrow Airport. Tenacious D and White’s band The Raconteurs (AKA The Saboteurs) were both returning from performing separate London shows.

White posed for a photo with Black and his Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass, with the band joking that they’d “hired a new merch guy” in an Instagram caption.
