James Vincent McMorrow only wrapped up his Australian tour a couple of months ago off the back of his 2016 album We Move but the Irish singer-songwriter has already shared brand new music.
His latest track is called ‘True Care’, and with its release McMorrow detailed a forthcoming album by the same name.
There’ll be no slow build-up to the release of True Care, with the musician’s fourth record, which is set to be released this Friday, 26th May.
McMorrow shared a statement on his website alongside the lyric video for ‘True Care’, and it it he explained that the reason this album will be available so soon is that he wants to break his own record cycle. He also detailed the track listing in full.
“Life is long. But then, it isn’t really,” he says. “Since I’ve been making records it’s been about following a cycle. Make a record. Wait. Release a record. Play for 18 months. Take a break. I don’t really understand that cycle any more.
“I want to make records when I’m compelled to, and I want to release them when they’re still as fresh to me as they are to whomever is hearing them for the first time. The idea of sitting around waiting doesn’t make sense to me.”
