Janet Jackson, the iconic 58-year-old singer, has shared her unconventional fitness routine as she prepares for her Together Again tour across the UK and Europe. Known for her high-energy performances, Janet gets in shape by singing on a trampoline.
During an appearance on BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, hosted by Scott Mills, Janet revealed how she conditions herself for her demanding shows. When Scott mentioned that Destiny’s Child used to run on treadmills while singing, Janet confirmed the technique and added her own twist. “Another way is a trampoline,” she explained. “That’s how you condition singing and getting your heart rate up and being able to move and sing at the same time.”

Janet, who is a mother to seven-year-old Eissa Al Mana, even has two trampolines at home—one for herself and one for her son. “He took the first one I got, so I had to get another for myself,” she joked.
The Promise hitmaker emphasized the intense energy required for her shows, which run for two hours straight. Along with her vigorous performances, Janet undergoes multiple costume changes, with three assistants helping her backstage. “Someone at my feet that’s changing my shoes, and someone that’s changing, and I also help myself,” she shared.
Despite the help, time is often tight. Janet admitted that she sometimes begins unzipping her costumes before reaching the quick-change area to ensure she’s ready for the next segment. “You start to unzip… I mean, you don’t take anything off, but you start to unzip things to make it go a little quicker,” she explained.
As Janet prepares to bring her Together Again tour to audiences across Europe, her commitment to maintaining her legendary performance level remains as strong as ever.
